Shonen Sunday commissioned an animed commericial for the then brand new Kyokai no RINNE manga to run during the premiere episode of the Inuyasha Kanketsuhen anime. A translation of the commerical is as follows:
Sakura: They say that if you put an offering in the weather hutch and make a wish, there's something out there that will solve your spiritual problems...
Rinne: Omnomnomnom...
Sakura: Hey!
Rinne: Wait, you can see me?
Rokumon: Roar! This is bad! The boundary has been broken!
Rinne: Well, I guess it can't be helped, since it's them.
Sakura: They're just way too energetic.
Rokumon: Entertainment that breaks limits!

The 40 second commericial stars Kouki Uchiyama as Rinne Rokudo, Mariya Ise as Sakura Mamiya, and Rie Kugimiya as Rokumon. None of these trio of actors were used when the Kyokai no RINNE anime was eventually released six years later.
Rie Kugimiya, who played Rokumon in this commercial, would go on to voice Anju in the television series.
